Running Club
Mission
The Army ROTC Running Club invites runners of all ability levels to join a supportive community focused on self-improvement, camaraderie, and the thrill of running alongside fellow cadets. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just starting out, our club offers a welcoming environment where you can develop your personal running goals, push your limits, and enjoy the camaraderie of like-minded individuals.
With weekly practice sessions, opportunities to race, and a strong emphasis on teamwork, the Running Club ensures that every member has the chance to grow both physically and socially. Our mission each semester isn’t solely about being the fastest, but about creating an atmosphere where every cadet can make personal strides in their running journey, improving individually while forming lasting friendships along the way.

What We Do
By participating in practices and races throughout the year, Army ROTC Running club promotes varied training with the goal of improving the overall fitness of cadets. We plan to compete in the Army 10 Miler in the fall where cadets who participate can earn club credit. For the fall, the requirement for credit is to run at least one 5k race, in which there are many opportunities within the Penn State community and surrounding areas. In the spring semester, we typically will train longer distances in order to prepare members to race a half marathon of choice. By having fun, we hope to make running an activity that is more accessible and enjoyable to our cadets.
Meetings
Members only need to attend one practice per week. Practices are Monday 1800-1900 and Friday 1600-1700
